Pricing and billing
Hayami DTM is billed per node, per hour, through your Azure invoice. There is one flat rate whatever VM size you run, and the wizards that deploy a cluster cost nothing of their own.
What you pay
Section titled “What you pay”| Charge | Rate | Billed by |
|---|---|---|
| DTM software, per node | US$0.12 per VM-hour, at any VM size | The Hayami DTM virtual machine offer |
| Deployment wizards | Free | The Hayami DTM Cluster offer |
| Azure infrastructure | Your normal Azure rates | Microsoft Azure |
- The software charge is the only charge from Hayami. It is the same per
node whether the node runs on the recommended
D2s_v5or on a larger size. - The deployment wizards, the Hayami DTM Cluster listing with its single-node, two-node and four-node plans, add no charge. Each node they deploy is billed by the Hayami DTM virtual machine offer. Your first deployment may ask you to accept that offer’s terms.
- Azure infrastructure is everything the deployment creates in your subscription: the VMs, their disks, network interfaces, the Key Vault and its private endpoint, and any data transfer. Azure bills it at your normal rates and discounts; see what the deployment creates.
The rate is set in US dollars. The Azure portal and your invoice show it in your billing currency.
There is no free trial: an evaluation node is billed at the same hourly rate.
Example: the software charge per month
Section titled “Example: the software charge per month”At 730 hours a month, before Azure infrastructure:
| Deployment | Nodes | Software, about per month |
|---|---|---|
| Single node (evaluation) | 1 | US$88 |
| 2 nodes, one region | 2 | US$175 |
| 4 nodes, two regions | 4 | US$350 |
Every node you add adds the same per-node rate.
When billing runs
Section titled “When billing runs”Azure meters the software charge with each node VM’s compute hours:
- It stops while the VM is Stopped (deallocated), for example after you stop it from the Azure portal.
- It continues while a VM that was shut down from inside the operating system is still allocated, as Azure compute does.
- It ends when you decommission the node and delete the VM.
During a Lifecycle swap upgrade, a node’s replacement VM runs alongside it for a short time, and both are billed for that time. A Terraform targeted apply replaces the node in place, with no overlap.
Reservations
Section titled “Reservations”You can reserve the DTM software for a term and pay less than the hourly rate:
| Term | Saving on the hourly software rate |
|---|---|
| 1 year | 25% |
| 2 years | 33% |
| 3 years | 40% |
A software reservation covers the DTM software charge only. The VMs’ compute is separate: Azure Reserved VM Instances or an Azure savings plan can cover it. Buy and manage reservations in the Azure portal under Reservations.
Where to see what you are billed
Section titled “Where to see what you are billed”The software charge appears on your Azure invoice as a Marketplace charge for Hayami DTM, and in Cost Management with the rest of your Azure spend. The Azure portal shows the hourly rate when you deploy.
